SHELL STITCH COLLAR

My usual was used for this. Size 40 DMC and 0.6mm needle. Don’t forget, changing the size of thread and needle will produce a smart collar for a little girl.
Begin with ch 128
Row 1: dc in 8th ch from hook *ch 2, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch, ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch.
Repeat from * to end. Ch 5, turn.
Row 2: In 1st space make 2dc, ch2, 2dc (shell). *ch 2, skip 1 space, shell in next space.
Rpt from * to end. Ch5, turn
Row 3: Shell in 1st shell *ch3, shell in next shell. Rpt from * to end. Ch5, turn
Row 4: Rpt 3rd row except work 4ch between shells and do not ch5 at end. Turn.
Row 5: Sl st across to centre of 4th shell. Ch3 and dc in same space. Ch2, 2dc.
*ch4, shell in next shell. Rpt from * until 3 shell from end. Turn
Rows 6 to 11:
Sl st across to centre of 2nd shell. Work as before across row, decreasing one shell at each end.
Fasten off.
Row 12: Rejoin cotton in centre of 1st shell on 4th row. Work 3trc cluster, ch6, ch6, 3trc cluster in same shell. *ch3 and work 3trc cluster, ch6, 3trc cluster in next shell. Rpt from * to end. Turn.
Row 13: Sl st into 1st loop. Work (2trc cluster, ch6, 5trc cluster, ch6, 2trc cluster) in same loop.
*ch1, work (2trc cluster, ch6, 5trc cluster, ch6, 2trc cluster) in next loop. Rpt from *to end.
Turn.
Row 14: Ch1, *9sc in 1st loop of next scallop. 3sc over next loop. Ch6, turn, and sl st back into 4thsc of
Preceding loop. Turn again and work 12sc into loop just made, then 6sc over remaining half
of 2nd loop.
Sl st between scallops and rpt from * to end.
Fasten off, darn in all ends and thread ribbon.
