For this doily I used a size 20 crochet cotton and 1.00mm needle. With my tension it worked out approximately 8 inches (20 cm) across.
Special instructions: A cluster is made by leaving the last loop of each stitch on hook, then when
all stitches in the group have been worked, yarn over and draw through all remaining loops together.
To begin, ch7, join with sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch6, trc in ring, (ch2, trc in ring) 8 times, ch2, join to 4th ch of initial ch6.

Round 2: Sl st into 1st space. Ch4 (to count as first trc), 5 more trc in same space.
6trc into next space and each space around. Join with sl st in top of ch4 at
beginning of round.
Round 3: Ch4, trc in next 5 trc. *Ch2, trc in next 6 trc. Repeat from * around. Ch2 join
in top of ch4 at beginning of round.
Round 4: Ch4, work a trc cluster over next 5 trc. *Ch2, work 6trc in next ch2 space, ch2,
work trc cluster over next 6 trc. Repeat from * around. Ch2, 6trc in last ch2 space,ch2,
join in tip of 1st cluster.
Round 5: Ch6, trc in each of next 6 trc, *ch2, trc in tip of next cluster, ch2, trc in next
6 trc.Repeat from * around. Ch2 and join in 4th ch of ch6 at beginning of round.
Round 6: Ch9, trc cluster over next 6 trc. *Ch5. (trc, ch3, trc) in next trc. Ch5, trc
cluster over next 6 trc. Repeat from * around. After last trc cluster is worked –
ch 5, trc in next trc of previous row, ch3 and join in 4th ch of beginning ch9.
Round 7: Sl st across to tip of 1st cluster. Ch1, sc in same tip. Ch7, sc in next ch3
space. *Ch7, sc in tip of next cluster, ch7, sc in next ch3 space. Repeat from
* around. Ch7, sl st in 1st sc at beginning of round to join.
Round 8: Sl st to centre of 1st loop. Ch1, sc in same loop, *ch8, sc in centre chain of
next loop. Repeat from * around ending with ch8, sl st in 1st sc of round.
Round 9: Ch4, trc in each ch and sc around. Join with sl st to 4th ch of beginning ch4.
Round 10: Ch6, trc in same place as join. *Skip 3 trc. (trc, ch2, trc) in next trc. Repeat
from * around. Sl st in 4th ch of beginning ch6 to join.
