Rose Brim Hat

I’m unsure what size doll this little hat will fit, as I only have boys and therefore no Dolls. I do however have fruit, and it will fit nicely on a large apple or medium sized orange if that helps!

Materials: Size 20 crochet cotton. 1mm hook.

Ch5, join with sl st in 1^st ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch3. Work 11dc in ring. Sl st to join in top of ch3.

Rnd 2: Ch2. hdc in same st at join. 2 hdc in next stitch and each stitch around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (24 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch2: Hdc in same st at join. Hdc in next st. *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next st. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (36 sts)

Rnd 4: Ch2. Hdc in same st as join. Hdc in next 2sts. *2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 2 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (48 sts)

Rnd 5: Ch2. Hdc in same st as join. Hdc in next 3sts *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 3 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (60 sts)

Rnd 6: Ch2. Hdc in next st and each st around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (60 sts)

Rnd 7: Ch2. Hdc in same st as join. Hdc in next 4 sts. *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 4 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (72 sts)

Rnd 8: Work one rnd even (same as round 6). (72 sts)

Rnd 9: Ch2. Hdc in same st as join. Hdc in next 5 sts. *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 5 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (84 sts)

Rnd 10: Work one rnd even. (84 sts)

Rnd 11: Ch2. Hdc in same st as join. Hdc in next 6sts. *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next next 6 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (96 sts)

Rnds 12 – 18: Work 7 rnds even (96 sts)

Rnd 19: Ch2. 2 hdc in next hdc. Hdc in next 4 sts. *2hdc in next st, Hdc in next 4 sts. Rpt from * around Sl st in top of ch2 to join. (115 sts)

Rnd 20: Work one rnd even.

Rnd 21: Ch2. *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 5 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2. (134 sts).

Rnd 22: Work one rnd even.

Rnd 23: Ch2, *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 6 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of Ch2. (153 sts)

Rnd 24: Ch2, *2hdc in next st. Hdc in next 7 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2.

Rnd 25: Ch2. *2hdc in next. Hdc in next 8 sts. Rpt from * around. Sl st to join in top of ch2.

(191 sts)

Rnd 26: Ch1 and then work a sc in each st around. Sl st to join in first sc.

Fasten off and darn in ends.

Fold back the brim at the front only and place a stitch of two to hold in place. I then added a little ribbon rose, but many different decorations would suit this hat. Viet Ted on the home page is wearing the same hat with a sunflower attached, or maybe a little anchor would look good for a sailor dolls outfit. The choice is yours.
